Why regulars keep coming back

Four reasons to pull up a chair

The kitchenCooked fresh, and it changes with whatever's good this week — not a laminated card.
The cellarSix cask ales, rotated by a landlord who actually cares what's in the glass.
The firesideSame hearth since 1846 — still the best seat in the house on a cold night.
The gardenForty covers between the fire and the garden — plenty of room, never a rush.
Our story

Same building, four landlords, one fire that's never gone out

We took over in 2015 and changed less than people expected. The beams are original, the cellar's the same one that's been cooling ale since the 1800s, and the regulars still sit where they've always sat.
